We were given the task of taking some photo's in which we could fit a manipulated giant into, we had to take them from different angles so the sky was in the host or a certain place where the foot of the giant could be.
One of the first pictures we took were of stockport counties ground, we too this form an angles that added a good field of view which we could maybe use to our advantage we tried to take it from a low angle and also got as much sky as we felt needed in the shot.
The second shot was of stockport counties ground again and we took this also from a low angle got sky the effect the light gave of a good lighting effect on the lens.We took the third shot of the same thing the football ground but from a lower angle and no including the sun I thought this shot was quite good because there was plenty of space in the sky for a giant.
I think with time I could improve my skills when using the camera. Some people in my class took good shots but had it on a setting that made the file size which wasn't very big therefore it made the quality of the picture not look the best.
I added an image of a class mate which we had taken in the photo suite, i used photoshop to do this, simply cropping him into this. then i was thinking the photo looked empty so i added another giant into it.
I added the second image of my class mate to fill in the empty spaces and made sure he was posing differently. I used a more simpler process to crop his body this time an feathered it more than the first. I think if I wanted I could maybe ad another to the left of the picture quite far back.
The Equipment
When we were down in the photography studio out tutor gave us a rough idea of some of the lights, cameras and other equipment we would be using, he talked about some of the uses and how to use and the do's and donut's.
Backdrop
This is a back drop, a plain background for taking photos. Here we had a choice of three colours; Black, White and Grey, many professional studious will have rounded rooms for long shots which gives the background a big flat effect. Lighting can drastically effect a back drop as you can aim lights from different angles, add colours over the lights to give it a subtle colour on it.
Barn Doors
To keep the light concentrated and barn doors are on lights this stops light from escaping and makes it become more concentrated. The Light head and the barn doors can become incredibly hot though so when working in a studio we learnt to be very cautions of this, wires and other other things although wires and other loose things should be taped down.
This light has a honeycomb over the from this offers a very soft glow. This light was also quite big and is mostly used from medium to high angles. This light also is constant rather than ones that flash when the camera captures a picture.
Light and Screen
This is a redhead light with a blue acrylic over the top of it (not to close to the bulb) as you can see it adds a glow of blue to the back drop. You could use whatever colour you want to give the desired effect.
Redhead Light
This is light is called a redhead. These are a very common light used. We took some pictures of each other with these lights aimed at us and you could see how lighting can drastically improve a picture.
Blonde Light
This is a blonde light, it is a bigger version of a redhead also the name blonde is also used loosely its proper name is a 2000w open faced light.
