This is my first chimera image, it is comprised of 3 animals those being the head of a lizard, the body of a rainforest toad and the eye of an owl. I used the blur tool to blend the body and head of the toad also using the free transform tool I sized each part accordingly.
This is my second chimera images, this time opting for more farmhouse animals, Chicken body, Pig head and a cats tail. I used the free transform tool to change the proportion of the tail and used the lasso to give the body a feathered neck.
This was my zebra, tiger and donkey mix, all four legged animals so I though this would be a good mix and it looks some what real. the cheetah tail was added in towards the end as it didn't look good without a tail.
This was a really weird looking Chimera, I used the body of robin, a hedgehogs legs ad an otters head but i think I turned out really well. Lower down the page I will show you some of the techniques that i have used to make these creations.
This is where I think I got more creative choosing very different animals and I think it produced an almost believable looking real image.
This is my independent image, we had to create and image on photoshop that doesn't use an animal so I decided to use something cliche and fun. I got a picture of a billboard and added an old image of godzilla to is I used the (command T) to move it accordingly. Then I found a picture of a rendered image of godzilla that was of a reasonable quality added that and then proceeded to select the skyline around the billboard and then I inverses it deleted it so that it made the godzilla go behind it. Later I thought because the main focal point of the image was the actually billboard I should blur the background so it makes it look more realistic.
TOOLS.
I used a few different tools whilst creating these chimeras from the lasso tool to the blur tool, they were really good tools to manipulate my images and give them the desired effect.some were easier than others to use but in the end the ones I used I think I could use with some capability.
The lasso - I used this tool to take animals from their background and place them onto the stage, once there I would neaten the animal up so it was just the animal and no background, once I had don't this I would delete different parts of the animal and then use the lasso to take other limbs from animals and add them to my main image.
Transform tool - This would be good to scale the animal, the animals limbs. the short cut was apple + T. this was simple you would select the image and do the short cut drag to size easy. If you didn't want to stretch it you could press shift and it would stay in the same scale.
Blur Tool - This tool would help if a limb or fur looked too harsh, I didn't use this a lot because when you do its very noticeable but in small doses it really does help. What you do with this tool is like what you would do with your finer you press the lmb and rub until it looks okay, if you go too far you can easily undo.
The Paint Tool - The paint tool is a simple tool and does what it you'd expect. This tool is simple but versatile and can make an image look totally different. You can change sizes and density of the tool.
Opening Photoshop and setting up a canvas, what your going to do is open up photoshop;
This is a blank photoshop, with no canvas open on it go to file and new.
Once you have done this a box will open up, click the drop down bar and go to international paper and make sure you have picked A4 swap the width and height and click okay.
once you have done this you are ready to add an image to the canvas. you can do this a number of ways, you could add it to a new document and paste it there and either lasso and copy the part you have selected, drag it to your document or just cop and paste it I find dragging from a browser onto the document the easiest way. click and dotage the image on the open document its that easy and then manipulate it as you want.
